Sarah Lloyd and Ron Nagorcka -
"Dialect, Repertoire and Imitation - The Language of Birds"
Most of Tasmania’s bush and forest birds are cryptically coloured and very difficult to see. The best way to ascertain whether they occur in an area is to become familiar with their songs and calls.
In this audio/visual presentation, Sarah Lloyd and Ron Nagorcka will match photos of birds with examples of their extensive repertoires, regional variations in calls and deceptively accurate imitations.
They will also emphasise that becoming familiar with bird song is a matter of constant practice.
Approx 1hr plus question time.

Craig Webb - Raptor & Wildlife Refuge - Talk about the fabulous Tasmanian raptors and the goals and work of his refuge.

Dr Sally Bryant - wildlife ecologist and popular ABC radio regular guest currently working with Tasmanian Land Conservancy. Talk on variety of issues such as the latest discoveries about the 40 spotted pardalote. Informal Q&A session.
