Unlike some companies Bargain Car Rentals do not have restrictions about travel on unsealed roads. Their terms state:

Ferry Times

The Bruny Island ferry departs from Kettering approx 45 mins travel time south of Hobart. The ferry may shuttle continuously at times of high demand and departure times may vary. Early arrival advised -  minimum 30 mins before sail time. It may be necessary to wait in the queue for several ferry crossings.

Travelling times - unsealed road on some island sections

Please note that Coolangata Rd and Resolution Rd are unsealed and in poor condition at present. Best to travel on main roads.

There is no public transport or taxi service on Bruny Island.

National Park Passes

 A valid park entry permit is required for entry to Tasmania's national parks including South Bruny National Park. There are a variety of passes available. Visit this site to see which is appropriate for you. Holiday passes can be bought online. Daily and holiday passes are also available at the Adventure Bay Store.

Banking Facilities

Please note that the Bird Festival centre at Adventure Bay Hall will not have any eftpos or credit card facilities. Most business on the island have eftpos facilities.

There is a cash ATM inside the Adventure Bay General Store and at the ferry terminal at Kettering.
