Restoring wetlands on Fairyland and further north at D’Arcy’s Lagoon by the Nature Glenelg Trust points to fantastic collaboration between several ‘for-value’ organisations.
Most islanders and visitors will drive past these efforts without even knowing they are happening.
Some residents may remember the 2020 fire that smouldered in D’Arcy’s Lagoon for months. With this restoration, the original hydrology, fauna and flora should recolonise.
